Mumbai University Opens Applications for 2026-27 Academic Year on May 6; Timetable Announced

Mumbai University has announced its admission timeline for the 2026–27 academic year, catering to students aspiring to enroll in undergraduate programs at its affiliated colleges, autonomous institutions, and university departments within the city and surrounding areas.

The online registration period for pre-admission opens on May 6 and will conclude on May 21, 2026, at 1 PM. Students must complete their registration on the university’s designated admissions portal, which will be accessible starting May 6 at 11 AM. This registration is essential for all candidates looking to gain first-year admission to undergraduate non-professional degree courses.

This admissions initiative aligns with the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 and follows the Maharashtra government’s notification dated April 20, 2023, which has reformed undergraduate education into three-year degree programs, four-year Honors and Honors with Research options, as well as five-year integrated programs that offer multiple entry and exit opportunities.

Dr. Pooja Roundale, Director of the Board of Examinations and Evaluation, stated, “All admissions and academic processes for first-year degree courses will be regulated according to the guidelines and regulations set forth by the Maharashtra government, Mumbai University, and the UGC as applicable.”

Online registration is mandatory for applicants to a diverse array of programs, ranging from traditional BA, BSc, and BCom degrees to specialized courses such as BSc in Data Science, BSc in Forensic Science, BSc in Aeronautics, BSc in Nautical Science, BA in Film, Television and New Media Production, Bachelor of Culinary Arts, and BPA in Music and Dance, among others. The centralized admission process will also include integrated five-year courses like BMS–MBA and B.Sc. in Bioanalytical Science.

Additionally, Dr. Roundale mentioned that the admissions timeline for the BMS program under AICTE will be distinct and will depend on the outcome of the entrance examination administered by the CET Cell.

All affiliated colleges and autonomous institutions have been instructed to strictly follow the established admission schedule, taking into account their specific enrollment capacities, reservation policies, and eligibility requirements for various courses.
