As Tamil film icon Vijay prepares to assume the role of Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu, his peers and supporters from the film fraternity are expressing their joy and admiration for him.
Prominent figures including Rajinikanth, Chiranjeevi, Mohanlal, Mammootty, and Shiva Rajkumar, along with Nayanthara, AR Rahman, Mahesh Babu, Suriya, Dhanush, Rashmika Mandanna, Silambarasan, Ram Charan, Kajal Aggarwal, and Vikram have all come forward in recent hours to extend their congratulations to Vijay and his party, the Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK), following their overwhelming success in the 2026 Tamil Nadu Assembly elections.
In a nostalgic reflection, actor Pooja Hegde, who starred alongside Vijay in the film “Beast” (2022) directed by Nelson Dilipkumar and the yet-to-be-released “Jana Nayagan,” shared a heartfelt message for Vijay, indicating her confidence in his political success well before the results were announced.
On May 5, Pooja posted a behind-the-scenes video on Instagram from the set of “Jana Nayagan,” where she first directs attention to a whiteboard displaying the query, “Who wins the elections?” She then turns to reveal Vijay standing nearby, creating an amusing moment.
In the video, Pooja steps forward, crossing her arms and using her eyes to imply that Vijay is the election victor. The typically reserved Vijay blushes and covers his face with a smile, prompting laughter from Pooja. She captioned the post, “Guess I called it before it happened? Here’s to dreams turning into reality, Vijay sir,” accompanied by their popular song “Arabic Kuthu” from “Beast.”
Following Vijay’s electoral triumph, Pooja took to her Instagram stories to congratulate him, sharing a photo together with the message, “OMG. Congratulations Vijay sir. This Thalapathy Kacheri is just getting bigger and bigger. Onwards and upwards only. Party time. Let’s go,” set to the tune of “Thalapathy Kacheri” from their film “Jana Nayagan.”
The film “Jana Nayagan,” featuring a cast that includes Bobby Deol, Mamitha Baiju, Gautham Vasudev Menon, Prakash Raj, Priyamani, Narain, and Nassar, has faced censorship issues since the start of the year and has yet to be released.
Originally slated for a January 9 release to coincide with Pongal, the film is still awaiting approval from the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC).
