HNB PLC has formed a strategic alliance with George Steuart Solution Pvt Ltd to enhance the availability of solar energy solutions throughout Sri Lanka. This partnership has been formalized via a Memorandum of Understanding and aims to assist both residential and commercial sectors that seek financing from HNB.
The collaboration underscores a mutual dedication to fostering the adoption of sustainable energy while providing customers with reliable and effective solutions. Consumers will have access to trustworthy solar power systems supplied by George Steuart Solution, complemented by secure and convenient financing options from HNB.
As part of this initiative, financing for residential solar installations will range from LKR 500,000 to LKR 7,000,000. For commercial and industrial solar projects, funding will be tailored according to the scale of the project and the specific needs of the customer, ensuring adaptability and appropriateness across various applications.
The loan facilities will feature repayment periods of up to seven years, with attractive interest rates that differ based on the selected term. This strategy aims to make the shift to renewable energy more feasible and accessible for households, businesses, and industrial users throughout the nation.
This partnership is in line with Sri Lanka’s national energy goals, which include the objective of generating 70 percent of the country’s electricity from renewable sources by 2030 and achieving net-zero carbon emissions by 2050. It represents the ongoing commitment of both organizations to environmental stewardship and long-term sustainability, contributing to a cleaner and more resilient energy future for the country.
The agreement was signed at HNB’s Head Office, attended by senior representatives from both companies. HNB was represented by Kanchana Karunagama, Senior Vice President and Head of Retail Banking; Susith Perera, Vice President of Personal Financial Services; and Asitha Fernando, Manager of Personal Financial Services. George Steuart Solution Pvt Ltd was represented by Manoj Pilimatalawwe, Director; Rohan Wasantha, General Manager; and Thisara Tharanga, Finance Manager.
