Authorities have reported that two individuals lost their lives and three others were injured in a shooting incident that occurred in Carrollton’s Koreatown on Monday morning.
During a press briefing held on Monday afternoon, Carrollton Police Chief Roberto Arredondo announced the apprehension of 69-year-old Seung Han Ho, who is believed to be connected to the shooting.
According to Arredondo, law enforcement was dispatched to the K Towne Plaza, located in the 4000 block of Highway 121, shortly before 10 a.m. following reports of the shooting.
Aerial footage from CBS Texas Chopper showed a significant law enforcement presence, which included personnel from both Carrollton Police and the Department of Public Safety (DPS).
Upon their arrival, officers discovered five victims at the scene. Tragically, two were declared deceased, while three others were rushed to a hospital, with their conditions currently unspecified. The identities of the victims have not yet been disclosed.
Chief Arredondo indicated that the shooting stemmed from a business meeting and emphasized that it was “not a random act.” He also reported that undercover officers were able to locate Han Ho’s vehicle, which led to a brief foot chase before his arrest at 2625 Old Denton Road.
As of now, the specific charges against Han Ho have not been disclosed, and the investigation is still ongoing.
