For the family of 16-year-old Priti Jagdishbhai Shinol, Wednesday was marked by a flurry of phone calls congratulating her on her impressive Class X examination results.
Priti, a student at PBD Joshi High School in Maninagar, achieved a remarkable 99.02 percentile. As the youngest of four daughters—two of whom are already married—she is described as ambitious and dedicated by her father, Jagdishbhai. Priti also has a younger brother who is currently in the seventh grade.
“I anticipated this outcome, but I wasn’t entirely certain,” expressed a delighted Priti.
With aspirations of pursuing a career in medicine and becoming a heart surgeon, she continued to attend her tutoring sessions even on the day of her results.
Jagdishbhai, the family’s primary provider, works as an accountant for a private firm in the Kankaria area. “It’s challenging to make ends meet during these times of rising prices, but we manage as best as we can. I pay her tuition fees in installments and will continue to support her education,” he shared with The Indian Express.
In another part of the city, Vijaykumar Sathwara, a 48-year-old construction worker, was also celebrating with his family in the Khadia neighborhood of old Ahmedabad. His younger daughter, Drashti, aged 15, achieved a commendable 95.42 percentile and scored 90 percent in her Class X exams. Meanwhile, his elder daughter, Vanshika, secured 87 percent in her Class XII science stream, following the results released by the Gujarat Secondary and Higher Secondary Education Board on May 4.
“I will work tirelessly to ensure my daughters receive a good education,” Vijaykumar stated, expressing his commitment to supporting their academic journeys.
