Priyanka Chopra Jonas is set to co-star with Orlando Bloom in the upcoming survival thriller titled Reset, directed by Matt Smukler. Filming is anticipated to commence in August.
According to a report from Deadline, the screenplay for Reset is penned by Jordan Rawlins. The plot centers around a woman, portrayed by Priyanka, who awakens in a remote wilderness with no recollection of how she arrived there. Her only hope for survival lies in placing her trust in a captivating stranger, played by Orlando, who may not be entirely truthful about his identity.
In a recent interview, director Matt Smukler discussed the casting choices, explaining, “I was searching for a dynamic where attraction and suspicion could seamlessly coexist. Priyanka and Orlando possess a remarkable talent for making audiences feel both emotions simultaneously. Their chemistry is remarkable.”
Reset will be produced by Jon Hoeber and Erich Hoeber under the Fratricidal Films label, alongside Michael Lazarovitch from Chemically Altered and Matthew Rhodes of Rhodes Entertainment. Priyanka’s production company, Purple Pebble Pictures, and Orlando’s Amazing Owl have also joined the project, with Nadine de Barros taking on the role of executive producer.
This announcement coincides with a busy period for Priyanka Chopra Jonas, who is also preparing for other projects, including The Bluff and the next season of Citadel.
Her husband, singer Nick Jonas, showed his support on Instagram, sharing the news about her new film alongside the next season of Citadel. He posted, “What a badass,” and “Another one,” accompanied by a fire emoji.
While Priyanka continues to thrive in Hollywood, she is also making her highly anticipated return to Indian cinema with Varanasi, directed by S. S. Rajamouli. This film marks her first major project in India since The Sky Is Pink and is viewed by Priyanka as a ‘homecoming,’ as she looks forward to re-engaging with the vibrant song-and-dance tradition of Indian films.
