Cockroach Party Appoints Journalist and IIT Graduate as Spokespersons for Upcoming Saturday Protest

The Cockroach Janta Party (CJP), a youth-driven protest initiative founded by Abhijeet Dipke, has appointed three individuals as spokespersons ahead of its upcoming demonstration in Delhi on Saturday, June 6. The appointed spokespersons include Saurav Das, an investigative journalist who will serve as the chief spokesperson, along with Vijeta Dahiya, a political researcher, author, and filmmaker, and Ashutosh Ranka, a former McKinsey consultant and alumnus of IIT Kanpur.

In a statement released on social media platform X, the CJP indicated that these spokespersons would articulate the movement’s objectives to the public and media, aiming to reshape India’s political landscape by promoting a new generation of leadership.

The forthcoming protest will center on the demand for the resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan, particularly in light of the NEET paper leak scandal. Dipke, who is currently located in Boston, previously expressed to The Indian Express his intention to conduct a peaceful sit-in at Jantar Mantar, indicating readiness for potential police intervention, including detention.

Details regarding the upcoming protest were shared by Das at a press conference in Delhi on Wednesday, which included information about Dipke’s plans to arrive in the national capital. According to news agency PTI, Dipke is expected to arrive in Delhi at 8 AM on June 6 and has urged his supporters to gather at the airport before heading to the Parliament Street Police Station to seek permission for the protest at Jantar Mantar.

Das encouraged supporters to meet Dipke upon his arrival and accompany him, along with activist Sonam Wangchuk, to the police station. He emphasized an open invitation for individuals from all political backgrounds to participate in the protest. PTI reported his remarks inviting widespread involvement.

Furthermore, the movement has garnered backing from climate activist and education reform advocate Sonam Wangchuk, who stated his intention to join the June 6 demonstration unless Pradhan resigns by June 5. Wangchuk expressed confidence that the CJP is focused on the interests of Indian youth rather than any foreign agendas.

Earlier this week, Dipke announced his return to India, calling for supporters to engage in what he described as a peaceful constitutional movement aimed at promoting accountability within the education sector.
