A devastating incident in the Ahilyanagar district of Maharashtra resulted in the death of a 24-year-old individual due to the collapse of an allegedly unauthorized hoarding amidst severe weather. The deceased, identified as Amit Mohan Sukale, lost his life in the village of Rashin, located within Karjat taluka. In the aftermath of the tragedy, local authorities have initiated a case of culpable homicide not amounting to murder against Vikas Lahu Saykar, as reported by Lokmat Times.
According to police reports, Karjat taluka had been under the influence of strong winds and heavy rainfall for two consecutive days. A substantial iron hoarding was installed at Mahatma Phule Chowk in Rashin for the purpose of promoting an event in Chondi. As the wind threatened to compromise the integrity of a flex banner attached to the hoarding, concerns regarding its stability were raised.
To mitigate the wind pressure on the structure, Sukale was allegedly asked to ascend the hoarding and perforate the flex banner to allow air to flow through more freely. While he was performing this task, wind speeds unexpectedly increased, leading to the collapse of the iron hoarding.
Tragically, Sukale was trapped under the wreckage of the hoarding and succumbed to his injuries at the scene. The incident, which was captured on video, has since circulated widely on social media platforms, drawing significant attention.
