FINANCIAL CHRONICLE – Sri Lanka has successfully issued treasury bills worth 1,050 million rupees at an average yield of 10.02 percent, according to the public debt management office. This transaction increases the total treasury bills sold this week to 112,214 million rupees.
The total amount offered in the recent issue was 140 billion rupees, with market subscriptions reaching 1,050 million rupees. The debt management office specifically sold a 12-month treasury bill at the aforementioned rate of 10.02 percent.
On Wednesday, June 3, the debt office raised 111.164 billion rupees through the sale of 3, 6, and 12-month treasury bills after an initial offering of 140 billion. Following this, all three types of bills were made available for additional purchases.
The settlement date for these transactions is set for June 5. (Colombo/Jun 4/2026)
