Sri Lanka’s Finance Ministry Seeks Innovative Ideas for Boosting Revenue

The Revenue Management Committee (RMC) from the Ministry of Finance, Planning and Economic Development has initiated a public request for proposals aimed at enhancing revenue. This effort aligns with the government’s strategic objective to boost national revenue performance to 20 percent of GDP.

Formed under the Public Financial Management Act, No. 44 of 2024, the RMC is looking for data-driven approaches that emphasize expanding the tax base, digitizing revenue collection agencies, and integrating the informal economy into the formal sector. Contributors are also encouraged to explore technology-based solutions and to incorporate international best practices in tax policy.

This call for proposals is open to registered think tanks, academic institutions, professional organizations, private sector companies, and Sri Lankan citizens possessing expertise in fiscal policy. Interested parties must submit their proposals in PDF format to dgfp@fpd.treasury.gov.lk by the deadline of June 16, 2026.
