FINANCIAL CHRONICLE – On Friday, Sri Lanka’s currency, the rupee, settled at a rate of 335.50 to 336.25 against the US dollar in the spot market, a decrease from the previous day’s rate of 336.90 to 337.50, according to market dealers. Additionally, bond yields experienced a decline.
In terms of telegraphic transfer rates, the rupee was valued at 332.50 for buying and 341.50 for selling against the US dollar.
For bonds maturing on August 1, 2030, the closing yield was 12.05 to 12.20 percent, a fall from the previous yield of 12.25 to 12.40 percent. Similarly, the bond maturing on January 15, 2033, ended at 12.30 to 12.65 percent, down from 12.30 to 12.75 percent. Lastly, the bond set to mature on March 15, 2035, closed at 12.80 to 13.00 percent, a decrease from the earlier closing of 13.20 to 13.30 percent. (Colombo/Jun5/2026)
