President Donald Trump has attributed the downing of a US Apache helicopter to Iran, which occurred while the aircraft was conducting patrols over the strategically significant Strait of Hormuz. In response to this incident, he has promised that the United States will take action.

On Tuesday morning, a US Army Apache attack helicopter crashed near the Strait of Hormuz, but both crew members were safely rescued by an unmanned sea drone, as confirmed by military officials.

In a post on social media, President Trump stated, “I have just been informed by our Great Military that last night the Iranians shot down one of our highly sophisticated Apache Helicopters while patrolling over the Strait of Hormuz. Nevertheless, the United States must, of necessity, respond to this attack.”

According to Trump, both crew members emerged from the incident without injuries. A drone vessel, operated by the US military, located the pilots and assisted them after they had spent approximately two hours in the water, as detailed by Captain Tim Hawkins, a representative of US Central Command. This operation marks the first recorded instance of a drone undertaking a rescue mission at sea for the US military.

In a contrasting statement, Iran’s parliamentary speaker, Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf, cautioned the US against failing to uphold its commitments, warning of potential escalations. He emphasized a preference for diplomatic dialogue while implying that Iran is prepared to respond decisively if provoked. On social media platform X, he stated, “Break your commitments, and we’ll switch to what we speak best. You ride the horse you saddled!”

When asked about the circumstances surrounding the helicopter’s crash earlier that day, President Trump indicated that a detailed report would be forthcoming and reaffirmed that the pilots were unharmed.
