While the U.S. focuses on extricating itself from Donald Trump’s contentious war in Iran, there are indications that a Europe free from Viktor Orbán is ready to assume a more pivotal role in future negotiations.
The foundation for any resolution must include a ceasefire, credible security assurances for Ukraine, and the abandonment of Kremlin demands for further territorial concessions in the east. Ukraine has shown extraordinary bravery and resilience in resisting an unlawful and brutal invasion for a duration exceeding that of World War I, playing a vital role in safeguarding broader European security interests. It is imperative that this favorable momentum is not lost.
