Melbourne Resident Arrested for Producing Firearms and Trafficking Narcotics

A man has been apprehended following a police operation that uncovered a variety of weapons and drugs at a residence in the western part of Melbourne.

According to Victoria Police, officers from the illicit firearms squad, in collaboration with the Viper taskforce, took the 51-year-old individual into custody after executing a search warrant at a house in Sunshine on Thursday.

During the search, authorities reportedly confiscated several items, including six firearms, a modified imitation pistol capable of firing live rounds, two additional imitation pistols, firearm components, tools for firearm production, and detailed schematics for building firearms.

It was noted that two of the seized firearms were classified as Category A rifles.

In addition to the firearms, police discovered methamphetamine, steroids, testosterone, and a machete at the scene.

The man faces multiple charges, including possession of a significant quantity of firearms, illegal firearm manufacturing, and being a prohibited person in possession of a firearm. He has also been charged with trafficking and possessing methamphetamine.
