Authorities in Bedfordshire are actively searching for a man following the tragic deaths of his wife and two daughters. The victims, identified as 42-year-old Nothabo Zandile Tshuma, along with her daughters Natalie, 15, and Nala, 5, were discovered deceased in their home situated in Great Denham, close to Bedford, on Monday.
Investigators from Bedfordshire police are treating the case as a homicide, and have named 45-year-old Ndodana Mkhanyisi Tshuma, known as Mark, as a person of interest in the investigation. A CCTV image of Tshuma has been released, as he is believed to have departed from Heathrow Airport to Zimbabwe on a British passport last Saturday.
Detective Inspector Lee Martin stated, “Our team has been pursuing various leads in this rapidly evolving and intricate investigation. We know that Mark Tshuma left the UK on Saturday and is currently thought to be in Zimbabwe. We are making urgent efforts to locate and apprehend him and would like to appeal directly to him to turn himself in.”
He continued, “The impact of this tragedy has been unimaginable for those connected to the victims, leaving their friends and family in profound grief. Our investigation transcends national borders, and we are collaborating with both domestic and international law enforcement agencies to explore all possible avenues for finding you.”
“Mark, please make the right choice and come forward to the local authorities. Our thoughts remain with Zandile, Natalie, and Nala, as well as all who cherished them, during this incredibly challenging time.”
On Tuesday, a woman who was part of a group that gathered to pay their respects outside the family’s residence remarked about Zandile Tshuma, “We are deeply saddened by her loss. She was an incredibly gracious mother.”
