Following India’s designation of him as a terrorist two years ago, the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) announced on Wednesday a reward of up to $50,000 for information leading to the capture of gangster Goldy Brar. He is a suspect in numerous criminal activities linked to the Lawrence Bishnoi gang, which has been targeted in a global initiative known as Operation Hard Ball aimed at combating organized crime.
Goldy Brar, whose birth name is Satinderjeet Singh, hails from Faridkot, Punjab. He traveled to Canada on a student visa in 2017 and has since been implicated in various homicides, including the assassination of Punjabi singer Sidhu Moosewala on May 29, 2022, in Mansa district, Punjab.
The FBI has indicated that Brar is believed to be residing in the United States, where he allegedly leads the gang’s operations in North America. On July 1, 2026, a federal arrest warrant was issued for him by the United States District Court in the Central District of California after he faced charges related to racketeering, conspiracy to interfere with commerce through extortion, and conspiracy to distribute controlled substances.
Brar’s connections extend to locations including Sacramento and Fresno in California, as well as Canada, India, and Mexico. The FBI has described his involvement with the Lawrence Bishnoi crime organization as encompassing a wide range of violent activities across the US and Canada, including the assassination of political and religious figures, shootings, kidnappings, extortion, and the trafficking of drugs and firearms.
An Indian intelligence dossier identifies Brar as being affiliated with Babbar Khalsa International, which is recognized as a terrorist group. It states that he has received support from cross-border agencies and is implicated in various murders while espousing a radical ideology. The dossier mentions that he has made threatening communications to nationalist leaders, demanded ransoms, and claimed responsibility for killings on social media.
Goldy Brar is also accused of smuggling high-grade weapons and explosives into India using drones, facilitating killings, and providing sharpshooters for such operations. The Interpol Secretariat General issued a Red Corner Notice against him, and India has issued a non-bailable warrant as of December 12, 2022, along with a Look Out Circular dated June 15, 2022.
The Indian authorities have classified Brar as a terrorist under the Fourth Schedule of the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act. He previously claimed responsibility for the killing of Dera follower Pardeep Singh Kataria in Kotkapura in 2022, who was shot dead by six assailants while on bail for his involvement in a sacrilege case.
Before distancing himself from the Lawrence Bishnoi gang, Brar was an integral member and openly acknowledged his role in Moosewala’s murder, stating in a Facebook post that he, along with others, was responsible for the act, which he justified as revenge for the death of Youth Akali Dal leader Vicky Middukhera.
Additionally, he is suspected of running an extortion racket in Punjab and may have been involved in the murder of Youth Congress leader Gurlal Pehalwan.
