The Ford Motor Company is initiating a recall of over 177,000 vehicles due to three distinct issues, as reported by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA).

The automaker, based in Detroit, has identified specific problems with the following models:

Firstly, certain Mustang vehicles are experiencing a malfunction in their windshield wiper and washing system, particularly in cold weather conditions. In these instances, the windshield wipers may only operate at high speed, and the washing system may become inoperative.

Owners of affected vehicles are encouraged to take their cars to authorized dealers, where necessary repairs will be conducted at no cost. Affected individuals can expect to receive notification letters regarding this safety issue within the month. The associated NHTSA recall number is 26V418000.

Secondly, a defect concerning the pinion shaft has the potential to cause a loss of driving power or, in some cases, may allow a stationary vehicle to roll if the parking brake is not properly engaged. As with the previous issue, repairs will be provided free of charge through local dealers. The recall number for this issue is 26V417000, according to NHTSA.

Additionally, Lincoln Nautilus Hybrid and Explorer Hybrid vehicles are being recalled due to potential failures in their pedestrian warning sound systems. Owners can obtain a complimentary replacement for these systems, with the NHTSA recall number being 26V415000.

Earlier in June, Ford also issued a recall affecting over 741,000 vehicles due to a malfunctioning parking system that could leave cars at risk of rolling away.
