Sri Lankan Rupee Trades at 336.65/75 Against the US Dollar, While Bond Yields Increase

FINANCIAL CHRONICLE – On Thursday, the Sri Lankan rupee was traded at a rate of 336.65/75 against the US dollar in the spot market, reflecting a decline from the previous day’s rate of 336.00/30. Additionally, bond yields experienced an increase, according to market dealers.

In terms of telegraphic transfer rates, the rupee was valued at 331.50 for buying and 340.50 for selling against the US dollar. The euro was priced at 376.2676 for selling and 390.1846 for buying, while the pound was quoted at 443.1308 for buying and 457.1764 for selling.

For bonds, the yield on the bond maturing on March 1, 2030, was reported at 11.20/30 percent. The bond set to mature on August 1, 2030, saw an increase, quoted at 11.38/45 percent compared to the previous 11.30/35 percent. Similarly, the bond maturing on October 15, 2030, rose to 11.45/50 percent from 11.36/40 percent. The bond due on December 15, 2032, was quoted at 11.70/75 percent, up from 11.60/70 percent. Lastly, the bond maturing on November 1, 2033, was recorded at 11.75/85 percent, an increase from 11.70/80 percent.
