Washington — Late Wednesday night, the U.S. military conducted a fresh series of airstrikes against Iran, according to U.S. Central Command. This marks the second consecutive night of military action as diplomatic relations between the two nations seem to deteriorate.
CENTCOM announced on X that the purpose of Wednesday’s operations is to “further diminish [Iran’s] capacity to jeopardize navigation safety in the Strait of Hormuz.” These strikes were prompted by recent Iranian assaults on three commercial oil tankers earlier in the week.
