Although she seemed a bit isolated towards the end, her impressive cruising speed and endurance make her an exceptional miler.”
Reflecting on Blue Bolt’s journey since her debut, Balding noted, “Since her fifth-place finish at Southwell, she has performed flawlessly on the track. I was slightly worried about the quick ground at Newmarket, but she handled it well.”
On the other hand, Precise’s trainer, Aidan O’Brien, suggested that his horse might benefit from a longer distance in future races, as her pedigree indicates she could handle a mile-and-a-quarter. “We always believed she would stay,” O’Brien said. “We kept her at a mile while we had another filly, Diamond Necklace, competing at a longer distance. Today’s performance was commendable, and the winner is indeed a strong competitor. We’re considering the Breeders’ Cup Filly & Mare Turf at Keeneland later this October as a potential goal.”
In another event earlier in the day, Senorita Bonita, who was the top purchase at the Craven breeze-up sale for 900,000 guineas (£945,000), justified her price tag by winning the Group Two Duchess of Cambridge Stakes by three-quarters of a length with Oisin Murphy aboard. She is expected to advance to Group One races, with the Prix Morny at Deauville next month being a likely target.
“Her acceleration was exceptional today,” trainer Ed Crisford stated. “We are keen to see how she performs in Deauville.”
Meanwhile, Japan’s leading sprinter, Satono Reve, narrowly missed victory in the Jubilee Stakes at Royal Ascot last month but will seek redemption in Saturday’s July Cup at Newmarket. Despite a strong performance at Ascot, he fell to Almeraq’s finishing burst in the final moments.

Additionally, the form of More Thunder and Zeus Olympios in the Queen Anne Stakes suggests they could perform well in a steadier pace race at Ascot.
Meanwhile, at York, The Lost King, previously disadvantaged by his draw in the Buckingham Palace Stakes at Ascot, has a solid chance to rebound based on earlier performances at Newmarket. The lightly raced Alfaraz is also expected to excel, having learned to settle in races and facing minimal competition for the lead.

Finally, while the competition in Newmarket’s 3:25 race is stiffer than the race Physique dominated previously, the odds of 33-1 suggest promising each-way value, especially given the strong supporting form from that outing.
