The National Testing Agency (NTA) has released the results for the re-examination of the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test Undergraduate (NEET UG) for 2026 on July 16. A total of 1.12 million candidates have qualified for entry into various undergraduate programs including MBBS, BDS, AYUSH, and allied fields. Those eligible can view and download their results from the official NTA website at neet.nta.nic.in.
Approximately 2 million candidates participated in the exam, which took place on June 21 at 5,440 centers across 551 cities in India, as well as in 14 international locations. The test was conducted in 13 different languages.
The NTA reported that over 58% of those who qualified are women, with females achieving a higher qualification rate compared to their male counterparts—56.8% of female candidates succeeded in the exam, while 55.1% of males did.
This year, 138 candidates achieved scores exceeding 690 out of 720. Notably, more than 93% of these high scorers were first-time test-takers, and 99% were aged between 17 and 19 years. The top score of 715 was jointly attained by Aryan Gupta from Punjab and Panshul Bansal from Haryana.
In total, 19 candidates scored above 700, while 1,492 candidates managed to secure 650 marks or higher. Furthermore, over 10,160 candidates obtained scores of at least 600, and 90,780 candidates achieved 500 marks or more.
Qualified candidates hailed from all 36 states and Union Territories. Uttar Pradesh had the highest number of successful candidates, totaling over 170,000, while Lakshadweep recorded 43 qualifying candidates.
Among the top performers from various states were Jigmet Yangchan Lamo from Ladakh (530 marks), Dhruv Tripathi from the Andaman and Nicobar Islands (606 marks), and Fahmida Anees from Lakshadweep (573 marks). Seventeen state toppers scored 700 marks or more, and 26 candidates surpassed the 690-mark threshold.
The top 138 rankers represented 66 different cities across India, with the highest scorers above 705 marks coming from Punjab, Haryana, Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh, Maharashtra, Bihar, Tamil Nadu, and Telangana.
When categorized, 512,000 candidates were from the OBC-NCL category, followed by 291,000 from the General category, 159,000 from Scheduled Castes, 95,026 from the General-EWS group, and 63,716 from Scheduled Tribes. Additionally, 3,666 candidates with Benchmark Disabilities (PwBD) and 303 candidates with Disabilities (PwD) qualified.
The NTA indicated that it efficiently processed the results using a restructured evaluation timeline that allowed multiple stages to occur concurrently. The provisional answer key was made available on June 25, followed by a window for challenging the answer key from June 25 to 28. Candidates could review their scanned OMR sheets and recorded responses between July 13 and 15, leading up to the final announcement of the answer key and results on July 16.
The agency emphasized its role in administering the examination, declaring results based on eligibility criteria set by the National Medical Commission (NMC), and issuing All India Ranks. The Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) will conduct the counseling process for the 15% All India Quota seats in MBBS and BDS, while state authorities will manage admissions for state quotas.
The NTA also urged candidates to be wary of fraudulent communications, including calls, messages, or websites that claim to offer admissions, seat reservations, or score enhancements, and encouraged reliance solely on official counseling portals.

In the previous year, 2025, Mahesh Kumar from Rajasthan achieved the top All India Rank (AIR 1) with a score of 99.9999547, followed closely by Utkarsh Awadhiya from Madhya Pradesh, who scored 99.9999095. Remarkably, four students from Rajasthan were among the Top 20 ranks in NEET 2025. A total of 2.2 million candidates took the exam, with 1.23 million qualifying. Uttar Pradesh once again had the highest number of successful candidates at 170,684, followed by Maharashtra (125,727), Rajasthan (119,865), Karnataka (83,582), and Bihar (80,954).
