FINANCIAL CHRONICLE – The Central Bank of Sri Lanka is hosting a digital payment awareness initiative in Jaffna aimed at educating government officials, business leaders, and the general public. This initiative is part of a broader national campaign organized by the Central Bank of Sri Lanka (CBSL) in partnership with various financial institutions and stakeholders.
According to CBSL, attendees will have the opportunity to receive tailored support from a variety of financial entities, such as banks, finance companies, and electronic money service providers, to help them register for and utilize a diverse array of digital payment solutions effectively.
The event will feature representatives from CBSL, banking institutions, non-bank financial organizations, and LankaPay, which manages the national retail payment system. Additionally, financial institutions, in collaboration with LankaPay Payment Limited (LPPL), will engage with local merchants in the Jaffna area to facilitate access to the LANKAQR payment acceptance system.
CBSL encourages the residents and business community of Jaffna to seize this opportunity to enhance their understanding and experience of digital payment methods, benefiting from the personalized support offered by financial institutions.
This event is scheduled to take place on August 7 and 8 at Cargills Square in Jaffna, running from 8:30 AM to 7:00 PM.
