Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy released a video that allegedly depicts a civilian being pursued and attacked by a Russian drone in Kherson.

In a social media statement on Tuesday, Zelenskyy emphasized the necessity for the global community to witness the footage, which he claimed illustrates how Russian soldiers derive enjoyment from harming and killing civilians.

The president described the drone, equipped with explosives, as having targeted a man selling vegetables by the roadside, detonating “right next to him.” The video reportedly captures the drone circling around the individual as he attempts to escape, before it ultimately flies directly toward him and explodes.

Zelenskyy referred to the clip as “yet another video of the drone ‘safari’ that Russians are conducting against civilians in Kherson.” He expressed the collective shock in response to the latest incident, highlighting how the drone intentionally pursued the vendor and detonated in close proximity to him. He noted that the Russian forces openly acknowledged their actions, showing a complete lack of remorse.

The individual involved, identified as Yurii, sustained shrapnel injuries to his torso, legs, and arms, in addition to a concussion, according to a medical professional featured in a video shared by Oleksandr Prokudin, the head of the Kherson region.

In the footage posted by Prokudin, Yurii described his experience, stating that he attempted to signal to the drone operators that he was merely selling vegetables. “I was showing it, saying, ‘Look, vegetables.’ But it started coming straight at me,” he recounted. “I started running, it hit the vehicle and I was right next to it.”

In a separate development, Russian strikes on Ukraine’s capital and its neighboring areas overnight resulted in the deaths of at least 15 individuals and left numerous others injured, according to officials on Wednesday.

The military administration of Kyiv reported that the missile and drone attack impacted residential structures and storage facilities.

“The Kyiv region endured one of its most devastating assaults from the enemy once again tonight,” stated Tymur Tkachenko, the head of the regional military administration, on Telegram. “Russia has once more inflicted death and destruction upon our land, claiming civilian lives. Accountability will inevitably follow for every such act of violence.”
