Russian strikes targeting Kyiv and its vicinity resulted in at least 14 fatalities and left 27 individuals injured, according to emergency service officials. Some sources have reported the death toll may be as high as 15.

Air raid warnings persisted for over an hour as Russian forces executed a barrage of heavy attacks on the Ukrainian capital. The military administration indicated that seven locations were struck during an offensive that commenced shortly after midnight on Wednesday.

In Kyiv, officials confirmed one death, 24 injuries, and damage to several buildings. Mayor Vitali Klitschko noted the possibility of individuals trapped beneath the rubble, following the rescue of two people from the wreckage of a warehouse in the city center that was devastated by the strikes.

Among the injured was an ambulance driver, with four of the victims reported to be in critical condition, according to Klitschko.

The mayor reported that the attacks ignited fires in various warehouses and storage facilities. He mentioned that a significant fire erupted on the outskirts of the city, and debris from a downed missile landed near a residential structure.

The Kyiv military administration confirmed that the assault led to an ammonia leak, which emergency teams were addressing.

Witnesses reported hearing explosions throughout the city, and Klitschko stated that air defense units were activated to respond to the assault.

On Wednesday, the Russian defense ministry claimed to have targeted logistical hubs and supply centers in Kyiv and surrounding regions, asserting these facilities were for military use. However, Russia has a documented history of attacking civilian sites in Ukraine and committing acts against non-combatants.

In a related development, Ukraine struck logistics centers belonging to Wildberries in Russia on Tuesday, adding to the list of over a dozen such facilities that have been damaged recently.
