FINANCIAL CHRONICLE – On Thursday, the Sri Lankan rupee settled at 335.55/80 against the US dollar in the spot market, maintaining the same level as the previous day’s closing of 335.55/60. Market participants indicated that bond yields remained largely unchanged.
A bond set to mature on September 15, 2027, remained steady at a yield of 10.00/20 percent. Similarly, a bond maturing on October 15, 2028, also closed unchanged at 10.50/65 percent. The bond due on December 15, 2029, held steady at a yield of 10.90/11.00 percent.
In contrast, a bond maturing on October 15, 2030, saw a minor adjustment, closing at 11.33/37 percent, slightly lower than the previous rate of 11.30/35 percent. The bond scheduled for maturity on February 1, 2031, also experienced a decrease, closing at 11.31/40 percent compared to the earlier 11.35/42 percent.
Furthermore, a bond maturing on October 15, 2034, closed at 12.12/13 percent, down from 12.15/20 percent. A bond due on August 15, 2036, decreased as well, closing at 12.55/65 percent, down from its previous closing of 12.60/65 percent. Lastly, a bond maturing on July 1, 2037, closed at 12.60/65 percent, a drop from 12.65/70 percent. (Colombo/Aug6/2026)
