Hatton National Bank PLC (HNB) announced a profit of 11.77 billion rupees for the quarter that ended on June 30, 2026. This reflects a modest increase of 0.3% compared to the same period in the previous year, as indicated in the bank’s quarterly financial report.

During this quarter, the bank recorded basic earnings of 20.39 rupees per share. For the first half of the fiscal year, the total profit reached 21.86 billion rupees.

The bank’s performance was significantly bolstered by a remarkable 30% growth in net interest income, which amounted to 34.20 billion rupees for the quarter. Additionally, net fee and commission income experienced a rise of 19.6%, reaching 6.86 billion rupees, largely due to increased card transactions and enhanced digital banking services.

Net operating income also saw a healthy growth of 10.4%, totaling 49.79 billion rupees, although the bank recorded impairment charges of 1.95 billion rupees. In contrast, the group experienced an impairment reversal of 4.65 billion rupees during the same quarter in 2025.

As of June 30, 2026, HNB’s total assets stood at 2.83 trillion rupees, marking a 7.1% increase since the beginning of the year. Gross loans and advances rose by 15.1% to reach 1.73 trillion rupees, while customer deposits grew to 2.16 trillion rupees.

The bank’s asset quality remained strong, with the net impaired loans (Stage 3) ratio recorded at 1.17%. HNB also showcased a robust capital position, with a total capital ratio of 18.18% and a Tier 1 capital ratio of 15.44%.

HNB’s achievements have been acknowledged by Euromoney, which named it the Best Bank for Large Corporates for the second consecutive year.

As of the latest trading session, the bank’s shares were priced at 384.75 rupees, reflecting an increase of 0.46%.
