Sri Lankan engineering and technology firm ISF has taken a significant step in the manufacturing sector with the launch of the world’s first fully automated coconut dewatering system. This innovative system aims to enhance productivity, lessen reliance on manual labor, and mitigate operational challenges within the coconut processing sector, ultimately leading to improved returns on investment.

Developed and built by Sri Lankan engineers, the system replaces a traditionally manual process with automation, streamlining operations in the industry.

The official unveiling of the system featured a live demonstration attended by Prof. Chrishantha Abeysena, the Honourable Minister of Science and Technology, along with diplomats from ISF’s primary international markets, industry leaders, and media representatives. Attendees had the chance to witness the technology in action and learn about its advantages for coconut processors.

ISF Director Anjula Sivakumaran expressed her pride in the project, stating, “I am thrilled to have overseen the design, testing, and launch of this automated coconut dewatering system. Our clients in Indonesia and the Philippines are excited about this advancement, and we will be shipping this particular unit to the Philippines in a few weeks. My engineering team will travel there to assist with installation and provide after-sales support.”

Sivakumaran further elaborated on her vision to aid regional and local companies in automating their processes to enhance their global competitiveness. She emphasized the importance of utilizing Sri Lanka’s exceptional engineering talent to help clients achieve a swift return on their investments.
