The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Kharagpur has updated the timeline for the initiation of the online application process for the IIT Joint Admission Test for Masters (JAM) 2027. According to the revised schedule published by the institute, the registration period is set to begin on September 12 and will conclude on October 12.

Individuals interested in applying for the examination must access the JAM Online Application Processing System (JOAPS) once it is activated on the designated release date to complete their registration. During the application process for IIT JAM 2027, candidates will need to provide various personal and academic details, as well as upload the necessary documentation.

IIT Kharagpur has also made available the information brochure for the upcoming examination on its official site, jam.iitkgp.ac.in. The brochure indicates that IIT JAM 2027 will take place offline on February 14, utilizing a computer-based testing format for seven subjects: Biotechnology (BT), Chemistry (CY), Economics (EN), Geology (GG), Mathematics (MA), Mathematical Statistics (MS), and Physics (PH).

The examination will be organized by IIT Kharagpur across two sessions. The morning session is scheduled from 9:30 AM to 12:30 PM for the CY, GG, and MA papers, while the afternoon session will run from 2:30 PM to 5:30 PM for the BT, EN, MS, and PH papers.

The institute has announced that there will be 3,000 seats available for postgraduate programs across 23 IITs for the academic year 2027-28.
