What’s the source of this revelation? The survey was conducted by British Gas, involving 2,000 adults across the UK.
Maintaining a well-functioning boiler can certainly add to the feeling of adulthood. The survey indicated that commonly recognized signs of being “together” include recycling, tidying up clothes, and being aware of waste collection days.
What’s wrong with a ‘chairdrobe’? It’s a perfectly functional solution! It’s essentially a pile of clothes. Additionally, participants noted that having a clean vehicle, keeping spare batteries available, and washing dishes promptly after a dinner gathering are also indicators of maturity.

These benchmarks seem rather trivial for determining life stability. Are you suggesting we should measure adulthood by owning a car, purchasing property, or raising children? Not in the current economic climate.

Didn’t we recently learn that the brain doesn’t fully mature until around 32 years of age? Indeed, that finding from Cambridge University last year is likely to be more reliable than this consumer survey.
When you consider it, by the age of 50, one has only been an adult for about 18 years. That’s sufficient time to learn the importance of making your bed.
