Her gameplay is characterized by deceptive speed and varied strokes, which left Unnati uncertain about whether to engage at the net or retreat defensively.
Although Unnati struggled in the first set, she managed to rally in the second, even taking a brief lead at 15-14 thanks to some powerful smashes and aggressive plays. However, Kim quickly regained her composure and did not allow the score to slip against her, neutralizing Unnati’s momentum as the score reached 18-18.
This match, following her earlier encounter with Michelle Li at the World Championships, served as another stark reminder for the young athlete regarding the challenges posed by experienced opponents who effectively utilize deception in their game.
In the men’s doubles category, the pairing of MR Arjun and Hariharan Amsakarunan had to retire while trailing 11-8 against the Chinese duo of Chen Bo Yang and Liu Yi. Shi Yuqi also faced defeat, losing 21-11, 21-10 to Loh Kean Yew.
