Following the tragic incident involving the rape of a 17-year-old girl on a bus traveling from Greater Noida to Delhi, the Delhi government has mandated that bus operators enhance safety protocols. This directive, issued on Tuesday, requires the installation of GPS tracking systems and panic buttons on all buses.

The Delhi Transport department’s regulations specify that buses must not be equipped with curtains or tinted windows. Additionally, the guidelines explicitly forbid making stops at unsafe or unauthorized areas, particularly in the middle of roads or at traffic intersections.
