Authorities in Sheffield have charged four individuals with murder following the tragic stabbing death of a newborn girl.

On Wednesday, two men and two women are scheduled to appear in court facing charges of murder, causing or permitting the death of a child, and obstructing justice by attempting to hide the circumstances surrounding the infant’s death.

A 15-year-old girl, whose identity is protected for legal reasons, has also been charged with obstructing justice.

Law enforcement was summoned to the Wincobank neighborhood on Sunday morning after receiving reports expressing concern for the well-being of an infant.

Upon investigating a residence on Holywell Heights, officers discovered the deceased baby.

A forensic postmortem examination revealed that the infant died from stab wounds.

The individuals charged with murder as of Tuesday evening are Andrea Skopova, aged 20, Peter Horvath, 19, Peter Horvath, 38, and Nina Horvathova, 37.

All five individuals remain in custody and are expected to appear before the Sheffield magistrates’ court on Wednesday. Additionally, two women, aged 26 and 37, who were apprehended on suspicion of murder, have been released on bail.
