The Pravartak Technologies Foundation at the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Madras has partnered with SWAYAM Plus, a project initiated by the Union Ministry of Education, to launch a Multi-Cloud Foundation with Security Programmes. This initiative aims to equip students, graduates, and working professionals with essential skills in cloud computing and cybersecurity.
The programme is designed to merge theoretical knowledge with practical application, enabling participants to grasp how fundamental cloud principles are applied across the three leading cloud service providers: Amazon Web Services (AWS), Microsoft Azure, and Google Cloud Platform (GCP). Moreover, it will offer specialized training focused on cloud security.
Spanning 100 hours, the multi-cloud programme will be conducted through live online sessions, facilitating direct interaction between participants and instructors. Additionally, students will have the chance to engage in an immersive learning experience at the IIT Madras campus.
Due to the inclusion of this campus component, the number of participants will be capped. Applications for the inaugural batch will open on September 10, with the final date for submission set for September 9. Interested individuals can register online through the SWAYAM Plus platform at swayamplus.education.gov.in.
This course is open to all students, graduates, working professionals, and individuals aspiring to advance their careers in cloud computing. The institute advises that applicants possess a foundational understanding of basic infrastructure concepts, such as CPU, memory, networking, and TCP/IP.
The curriculum will explore significant topics, including cloud computing and multi-cloud strategies, compute resources, storage solutions, networking, identity and access management, database services, cloud cost management, multi-cloud architecture, and practical applications.
Participants will also undergo targeted training in security, providing them with hands-on experience in areas such as threat detection, identity hardening, encryption practices, compliance, security monitoring, and incident response. Furthermore, the top five percent of performers will receive assistance with job placements, as per the institute’s claims.
The IITM Pravartak Technologies Foundation serves as the Technology Innovation Hub of IIT Madras, while SWAYAM Plus is implemented by the institute under the Ministry of Education to offer learners access to relevant and employability-focused educational experiences.
