On Wednesday, JioHotstar announced its expansion into international markets, specifically the UK, Canada, and Singapore, signaling a significant step in its goal to establish itself as a global entertainment service.
This launch will provide viewers in these regions with access to JioHotstar’s extensive library, which boasts over 160,000 hours of content available in more than 12 languages and various genres.
The platform aims to enhance its international offering by blending Indian entertainment with tailored recommendations, engaging features, flexible subscription plans, and a user-centered interface.
In the UK, Canada, and Singapore, JioHotstar will aggregate television shows, films, regional content, non-fiction programming, children’s entertainment, and anime, all accessible through a single platform.
While primarily targeting the South Asian community abroad, the service also aims to appeal to a broader international audience interested in a variety of languages, narratives, and cultures.
JioHotstar plans to introduce over 30,000 hours of new content each year, including original productions, major movie releases, and popular television series as part of its international launch lineup.
