FINANCIAL CHRONICLE – On Wednesday afternoon, the indices of the Colombo Stock Exchange in Sri Lanka exhibited mixed performance, according to data from the CSE. The benchmark All Share Price Index (ASPI) experienced a slight decline of 0.07 percent.
The ASPI decreased by 14.27 points, bringing it to 21,304.04, whereas the more actively traded S&P SL20 saw an increase of 0.09 percent, or 5.25 points, reaching a total of 5,991.70.
Among the gainers contributing positively to the ASPI were Ceylon Cold Stores, which rose by 2.05 percent to 124.25 rupees, Haycarb, increasing by 1.40 percent to 198.75 rupees, and Industrial Asphalts (Ceylon), which surged by 20.00 percent to 0.60 rupees.
On the other hand, the notable decliners included Browns Investments, which fell by 5.26 percent to 5.40 rupees, Commercial Credit and Finance, down by 4.66 percent to 102.25 rupees, and DFCC Bank, which decreased by 0.60 percent to 125.00 rupees.
The market turnover amounted to 466.2 million rupees, with the banking sector leading this figure at 179.15 million rupees.
Additionally, SANASA Life Insurance announced that its debt securities will continue to be monitored due to a Qualified Opinion and Emphasis of Matter regarding its ongoing viability in the audited financial statements for the year ending December 31, 2025. The company indicated it is taking measures to address these issues within 15 months, aiming to upgrade its credit rating to investment grade through capital raising efforts.
