Live Updates on Box Office Collection for Toxic: On Wednesday, September 2, director Geetu Mohandas’ ambitious film featuring Yash, titled Toxic, continued its significant decline at the box office, earning under Rs 6 crore for the day. If this trend persists, the film’s earnings could plummet to mere lakhs in the days ahead, signaling a potential box office failure.
On this day, Toxic achieved a net collection of Rs 5.10 crore in India, spread across 12,000 screenings, which brings its total domestic earnings to Rs 234.70 crore, as reported by industry analyst Sacnilk.
Globally, the film’s gross revenue has reached Rs 322 crore. Throughout the day, the film experienced an average occupancy rate of 14.2 percent in the Hindi-speaking markets. The morning screenings started with an occupancy of 10.15 percent, which did not improve significantly, showing rates of 13.46 percent in the afternoon, 12.69 percent in the evening, and a slight increase to 16.46 percent during the night showings.
Regrettably, Toxic’s earnings for the day were even lower than those of Hanuman Ansh, directed by Vishal Chaturvedi, which has gained popularity recently with a net collection of Rs 7.25 crore on its 27th day in theaters. This film, inspired by the life of Neem Karoli Baba, has resonated well with audiences.
Despite receiving support and praise from numerous industry figures such as Aditya Dhar, Rishab Shetty, and Kichcha Sudeepa, who have taken to social media to champion the film, Toxic has struggled to generate excitement and maintain its momentum.
Featuring a talented cast that includes Kiara Advani, Nayanthara, Huma Qureshi, Tara Sutaria, and Rukmini Vasanth, Toxic was produced with an estimated budget of Rs 500 crore. The film boasts cinematography by Rajeev Ravi and music contributions from Ravi Basrur, Vishal Mishra, and Tanishk Bagchi, along with production design by TP Abid and editing by Ujwal Kulkarni. Action sequences were directed by JJ Perry, Anbariv, Kecha Khamphakdee, and Amrit Singh.
In international markets, the film garnered Rs 1.00 crore on its eighth day, raising the total overseas gross to Rs 41.75 crore.
From its debut day, Toxic’s financial performance has fluctuated: it opened with Rs 16.25 crore on Day 1, with subsequent collections showing a steep decline—Rs 3.50 crore on Day 2 (a drop of 78.5%), maintaining Rs 3.50 crore on Day 3, increasing to Rs 7.00 crore on Day 4 (a 100% rise), followed by Rs 5.00 crore on Day 5 (28.6% drop), Rs 2.00 crore on Day 6 (60% drop), Rs 1.50 crore on Day 7 (25% drop), and finally Rs 1.00 crore on Day 8 (33.3% drop). With the overseas earnings included, the film’s total worldwide gross now stands at Rs 322.00 crore.
