Roar Global has launched Roar AI, the first AI gateway in Sri Lanka, providing developers, startups, and businesses with access to over 200 advanced frontier and open-source AI models through one unified platform.
Developed locally, Roar AI aims to overcome various challenges that organizations encounter when working with artificial intelligence. These challenges include fragmented access to diverse models, complicated international payment processes, and issues related to application hosting, cost management, and data governance.
With a single integration, users of Roar AI can utilize a broad spectrum of global AI models, including Anthropic, Gemini, Perplexity, Llama, DeepSeek, and Kimi. This capability allows users to select the appropriate model for their specific applications or workloads without the hassle of managing multiple platforms, accounts, and billing systems.
In addition to model access, Roar AI offers the necessary infrastructure to deploy and manage AI applications. This includes locally hosted applications, integrated databases, transactional email services, and automated backup solutions. The platform also features controls for usage, budget management, and safeguards to help organizations regulate how AI is accessed and utilized by their teams.
Billing in Sri Lankan rupees enhances predictability and control over AI-related spending for local businesses. The availability of local infrastructure and engineering support provides organizations with a more accessible option for developing and managing AI applications.
“The adoption of AI should not be restricted by geographical location or the ease of accessing global infrastructure,” stated Mustafa Kassim, Founder and CEO of Roar Global. “We designed Roar AI to bring premier AI capabilities closer to builders and businesses in Sri Lanka, along with the local infrastructure and expertise necessary to transform those capabilities into tangible products.”
Roar AI is not a standalone AI application or chatbot but rather serves as an infrastructure layer that enables developers to integrate AI models into their own products, platforms, and workflows. This approach grants teams the flexibility to test various models, optimize for performance and cost, and expand their AI capabilities using a single, locally supported platform.
The launch of Roar AI signifies Roar Global’s transition from a digital media and platform consultancy to a venture-building entity focused on AI, technology platforms, and the creator economy. The group has made substantial investments in AI-driven innovation, currently processing over 10 billion AI tokens across its various products, applications, and workflows.
Roar AI also embodies a broader commitment to enhancing Sri Lanka’s involvement in the global AI economy. By simplifying access to advanced AI infrastructure locally, Roar aims to assist developers, entrepreneurs, and enterprises in moving past the experimental phase with individual AI tools and towards the creation of scalable products and businesses centered around AI.
“We aspire for Sri Lanka to be more than just a consumer of AI products developed elsewhere,” Mustafa added. “Our goal is to equip Sri Lankan developers and businesses with the infrastructure needed to create these products locally and introduce them to the global market.”
Roar AI is being rolled out to select developers and early adopters in Sri Lanka. Interested developers, startups, and organizations can apply for early access at roar-ai.com/early-access.
