Classic Destinations (Pvt) Ltd recently welcomed a group of around 30 prominent travel agents from the Punjab Travel Agents Association (PTAA) of India as part of a familiarization program throughout Sri Lanka.
The Indian delegation aimed to gain firsthand experience of Sri Lanka, exploring significant tourism offerings and properties, while also seeking to forge future business collaborations. During their visit, the PTAA members held their Annual General Meeting (AGM) on the island.
A key feature of the trip was an evening Networking & Destination Presentation that took place on September 8, 2026, at Nuga Gama, located within the Cinnamon Grand Colombo. This event facilitated interactions among the PTAA delegates, local tourism and hospitality partners, industry stakeholders, and members of the media.
Under the guidance of Chalaka Gajabahu, the Head of Classic Destinations, this initiative highlighted the concerted efforts of the Sri Lankan tourism industry to engage with important international trade partners, thereby enhancing existing tourism and business ties between Sri Lanka and India.
