Today’s rate for 24K gold reflects a decline of Rs 27 compared to the previous day, September 15. In contrast, the prices for 22K and 18K gold have increased by Rs 25 and Rs 20, respectively, compared to the same date.
Vedika Narvekar, a research analyst specializing in commodities and currencies at Anand Rathi Share and Stock Brokers, noted that gold is experiencing a rebound today, with prices rising approximately 1% to over $4,330 per ounce. This recovery follows two consecutive days of losses and is attributed to a slight reduction in oil prices, which has alleviated some inflation concerns, along with a minor dip in Treasury yields after their recent surge to near two-decade highs.
Narvekar further commented on the Federal Reserve’s upcoming rate decision, indicating that markets are anticipating a 93% likelihood of an increase, marking the first hike since 2023. If Fed Chair Kevin Warsh hints at further tightening measures, gold may face renewed vulnerability, particularly if prices fall below $4,250, which could lead to a target of $4,100. Conversely, if he adopts a more cautious tone, gold could continue its upward trajectory. For the time being, gold is expected to fluctuate within a range of $4,250 to $4,400 today, with significant focus on the Fed’s statement and press conference scheduled for later in the evening.
