Filmmaker Boney Kapoor, known for his contributions to various Hindi films as well as several projects in Tamil and Telugu cinema, recently expressed his admiration for the rich talent present in South Indian film industries. He specifically honored Malayalam film icon Mohanlal, labeling him as the “best actor in our country.”

During a promotional gathering, Boney highlighted the skills prevalent in the South Indian cinema landscape. He remarked, “The South industry is filled with talent, whether it’s Malayalam, Kannada, Tamil, or Telugu cinema. Their contributions deserve recognition. Telugu films have demonstrated the potential for glamour in cinema,” he stated.

The seasoned director further mentioned influential figures in the industry, saying, “Raghavendra Rao is renowned for his exceptional song picturization. In Tamil cinema, we have notable directors like Sridhar (CV Sridhar), Bharthiraja, and Bhagyaraj who have made significant contributions.”

In his praise for Mohanlal, Boney asserted, “I believe that the finest actor our nation has produced comes from Malayalam cinema – Mohanlal. There is no actor who surpasses him in our country. While many talented actors exist, none can match Mohanlal. The South boasts an incredible wealth of talent across all its regions,” he remarked.

On the professional front, Boney Kapoor is set to produce upcoming films including “Mom 2” and “No Entry 2.” Meanwhile, Mohanlal’s latest appearance was in “Drishyam 3,” which premiered in theaters on May 21 of this year. The actor’s next project will be “Athimanoharam (L366),” directed by Tharun Moorthy and featuring Meera Jasmine, scheduled for release on December 24, 2023.
