Actress Komal Rani Swarnkar, who has recently been the subject of rumors regarding a possible relationship with seasoned Bollywood star Govinda, has addressed the situation publicly through a detailed series of posts on her Instagram Stories this past Friday. The two are set to appear together in the upcoming film titled “Roopa.”
In her statement, Komal highlighted what she perceived as selective outrage from various celebrities who have commented on her personal affairs and her connection with Govinda. She expressed confusion over why these individuals, who often remain silent on pressing national matters, have chosen to weigh in on her private life.
“Lately, I have observed several celebrities making public remarks about Govinda ji and my personal life, as well as our integrity. However, it is rare to see them voice their opinions on serious issues such as terrorism, political matters, the passing of fellow actors, or even another actor’s multiple marriages,” she noted. “So why has our personal life suddenly become a topic of public discussion that everyone feels entitled to critique?”
Komal also responded directly to the criticisms regarding her appearances with Govinda, which some have interpreted as proof of a romantic relationship. “Since when did attending Ganpati Bappa’s festivities with my idol and praying for the success of my film ‘Roopa’ become a matter of disgrace or a national concern?” she questioned.
She clarified that their public interactions stem from their professional collaboration rather than any romantic involvement. “We are promoting our film ‘Roopa,’ not a love affair,” she stated. She further challenged those who misconstrue their appearances as personal rather than professional. “We are collaborating on this project, and will continue to be seen together. If that disturbs anyone, let them deal with it,” she added.
Without naming specific individuals, Komal suggested that certain actresses in the industry, whose careers have stalled, might be using the controversy surrounding her to revive their own fading public images. “Some actresses, whose careers are no longer thriving at the box office, seem to be grasping at straws to remain relevant by inserting themselves into the controversies of others,” she remarked.
She emphasized that she is unconcerned with how these individuals perceive her. “I genuinely do not care if these individuals view me as good or bad,” she mentioned. Komal also speculated that the criticism may stem from their own frustrations regarding failed relationships. “I believe they are projecting their own disappointments onto someone else,” she suggested.
Komal Rani Swarnkar specifically called out Kashmera Shah and Divya Khossla, both of whom had previously criticized her for her public appearances with Govinda. Shah is married to comedian Krushna Abhishek, who is related to Govinda, adding a layer of complexity to the ongoing family dispute within Bollywood.
She urged both actresses to stop linking themselves to her name for relevance. “Cease trying to stay in the spotlight by constantly associating with me. Perhaps the adage holds true: ‘Your dignity is in your own hands.’ Those who behave this way should recognize their boundaries and refrain from inciting others to the point where their own pasts may be revealed,” she concluded.
