The latest episode of Kaun Banega Crorepati 18, hosted by Amitabh Bachchan, featured contestant Supriyo Bhattacharjee from Duliajan, Assam, who resumed his game on October 2. Supriyo, an employee of Oil India Limited, had previously secured Rs 1 lakh without utilizing any lifelines, and he returned to the hot seat to advance his KBC experience.

As he continued his journey, Supriyo had three lifelines at his disposal. He also reminisced about a significant moment from his first trip to Mumbai in 2024, when he visited Amitabh Bachchan’s residence, Jalsa, in hopes of catching a glimpse of the iconic actor.

In a heartwarming exchange with Bachchan, Supriyo shared that his mother had expressed a strong desire to meet the star. Knowing that Bachchan greeted fans outside Jalsa every Sunday at 5 pm, they arrived at noon, only to find a large crowd already present.

“My first visit to Mumbai was in 2024, and my mother kept asking when we would meet Bachchan ji. I remembered that you meet fans at Jalsa every Sunday at 5 pm, so we reached there at 12 noon. By 5 pm, I finally got to see you, and that memory will stay with me forever,” Supriyo recounted.

Amitabh Bachchan responded by reflecting on how the arrangement for fans outside Jalsa has changed over time. He explained that initially, he stood on the ground, but as fans complained that they couldn’t see him, he moved to a small platform. However, when that still didn’t suffice, a larger platform was constructed to accommodate everyone.

Bachchan also admitted that he feels nervous when his staff informs him that everything is ready for him to meet the fans. “It’s quite daunting when they say everything is set, and I start to wonder if anyone will actually show up. Luckily, there are always people who come, and I appreciate their presence, even in the heat,” he shared.

As the game progressed, Supriyo reached a question valued at Rs 3 lakh, for which he utilized the Audience Poll lifeline. He correctly answered and continued onward.

For the following question, which was worth Rs 5 lakh, Supriyo attempted to use the Sanket Soochak lifeline. However, he struggled to arrive at an answer and opted for the MahaFlip lifeline instead, successfully answering the new question and advancing further in the game.

Supriyo then entered the Super Sandook round, where he managed to answer eight out of ten questions correctly, allowing him to choose between taking his earned money or opting for the 50:50 lifeline. He decided to take the 50:50 lifeline, retaining another lifeline for upcoming questions.

Later, he employed the 50:50 lifeline on a question worth Rs 7.5 lakh. After eliminating two incorrect options, Supriyo answered the question correctly, maintaining his momentum.

He then faced the 12th question, which was valued at Rs 12.5 lakh. The question asked: “The Vijayanagara Empire, established in 1336 by Harihara and Bukka, was initially ruled by which dynasty?” The options provided were: A. Saluva B. Tuluva C. Sangama D. Aravidu.

Uncertain about the answer, Supriyo made the strategic decision to exit the game rather than jeopardize his winnings. The correct response was C. Sangama.

Consequently, Supriyo concluded his KBC 18 adventure with a total of Rs 7.5 lakh. The Vijayanagara Empire, founded in 1336 by brothers Harihara I and Bukka Raya I, was ruled initially by the Sangama dynasty, named after their father. This dynasty was the first of four that governed the empire, followed by the Saluva, Tuluva, and Aravidu dynasties.

Harihara I is acknowledged as the inaugural ruler of the Vijayanagara Empire, with his brother Bukka Raya I succeeding him and playing a vital role in the empire’s establishment. Located in what is now Karnataka, the empire grew to become one of the most formidable kingdoms in southern India, reaching its zenith under influential rulers such as Krishnadevaraya from the Tuluva dynasty.
