IASL launches revamped website to better serve Sri Lanka’s insurance ecosystem

The Insurance Association of Sri Lanka (IASL) has proudly unveiled its newly updated official website, accessible at www.iasl.lk. This initiative underscores the Association’s dedication to fostering transparency, enhancing accessibility, and maintaining its leadership role within the insurance sector amid a rapidly evolving digital environment.

The revamped website signifies IASL’s acknowledgment that elevating its digital presence is essential to its mission. As the insurance industry in Sri Lanka experiences swift digital transformation and aims for broader market penetration, the Association’s online platform is intended to be a reliable and user-friendly resource for all stakeholders, including member companies, policyholders, regulators, and institutional partners.

Designed with three key principles in mind—clarity, accessibility, and relevance—the new site boasts a streamlined, responsive layout that caters to a variety of user needs. Updated content highlights vital topics such as industry insights, regulatory news, and member services, presented in language that is easily understood by both industry experts and the general public. The website also includes a searchable resource library, an updated news section, and search engine optimization to ensure it remains a dynamic and visible resource.

In commenting on the launch, Mr. Lasitha Wimalaratne, President of IASL and Executive Director/CEO of HNB Assurance PLC, remarked: “This website serves as an extension of our role as a central hub for the industry, connecting member companies, regulators, and the public we serve together. We aim for every visitor—be it a CEO from a member company, a first-time insurance buyer, or a policy maker—to easily locate the information they need and appreciate the collaborative efforts of Sri Lanka’s insurance sector. Effective communication and ease of access to industry information are crucial for fostering public trust, and this website launch is part of IASL’s broader commitment to keep our sector transparent, accountable, and genuinely connected to the communities we aim to protect.”

The website redesign also enhances IASL’s visual identity with stronger branding and a cohesive design, effectively consolidating the Association’s extensive work, including its collaboration with the Insurance Regulatory Commission of Sri Lanka (IRCSL) and its initiatives to establish the Insurance Ombudsman Scheme and promote consumer protection nationwide.

The Association encourages all member companies, industry partners, policymakers, and the public to explore the updated platform at www.iasl.lk.
