Karnataka 2nd PUC Results for 2026 Set to Be Announced on April 9, According to KSEAB Chairman

The Karnataka School Examination and Assessment Board (KSEAB) is set to release the results for the Second PUC Examination-1 on Thursday, April 9, as confirmed by KSEAB chairman Prakash GT Nittali in an interview with The Indian Express. While the results are confirmed to be announced on this date, the specific timing is yet to be finalized.

Initially, the announcement of the second PU results was scheduled for April 7. This event was expected to be historic, as it would mark the first occasion on which the results of both SSLC and Second PUC examinations would be revealed simultaneously prior to the start of exams. The School Education and Literacy Secretary, Madhu Bangarappa, was anticipated to oversee the announcement.

In light of the model code of conduct currently in effect due to by-elections in Bagalkot and Davangere, the Election Commission has authorized the release of the results. Nonetheless, an official indicated that Bangarappa prefers to wait until the by-elections are concluded before making the announcement.

When asked about the delay, Nittali explained that the postponement stems from the need for last-minute data compilation. He noted that staff members are currently engaged in election duties, which has contributed to the holdup in result announcement.

This year, KSEAB has adjusted the minimum passing criteria, lowering it from 35% to 30%. According to the official notification, students are now required to achieve at least 30 marks in each subject, which includes both theory and internal assessments, in addition to securing an overall aggregate of 33% (198 out of 600 marks) to pass.

The examination period commenced on February 28 and concluded on March 17, 2026. This year, a total of 710,363 candidates from 5,174 PU colleges registered to take the exams, comprising 646,801 first-time candidates, 50,540 repeat candidates, and 13,022 private students.

To facilitate a smooth examination process, KSEAB established 1,217 examination centers throughout the state. Among the registered students, 292,645 are enrolled in the Science stream, 211,174 in Commerce, and 142,982 in Arts.

Once the results are released, students can access their scores via the official KSEAB website at kseab.karnataka.gov.in. For further updates regarding the Karnataka PUC 2 results for 2026, students may also visit the IE Education portal.
