David Warner Faces Charges for Moderate Drunk Driving Offense

Former Australian Test cricketer David Warner has faced charges for mid-range drink driving following an incident in Sydney’s eastern suburbs over the weekend.

On Sunday at approximately 5:30 PM, law enforcement officers were conducting random breath tests along Malabar Road in Maroubra when a van reportedly stopped before the designated testing area and parked.

Upon inspection, officers approached the vehicle and administered a roadside breath test to the 39-year-old driver, later identified as Warner.

The initial test yielded a positive result, leading to Warner’s arrest and subsequent transport to Maroubra Police Station.

A subsequent test reportedly indicated a blood alcohol concentration of 0.104.

Warner has been officially charged with mid-range drink driving and is scheduled to appear in court in May.

Having retired from international cricket in 2024, Warner continues to participate in the Big Bash League.
