The Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan (KVS) is set to announce the lottery results for Balvatika and Class 1 admissions for the academic year 2026–27 on April 8. The provisional selection list and waitlist for candidates who have registered will be made available online.
Parents who have completed the online registration can verify their child’s admission status on the official KVS website or through dedicated portals at kvsangathan.nic.in and admission.kvs.gov.in.
According to the official timeline, the online registration for Balvatika levels 1 and 3, as well as for Class 1, commenced on March 20 and concluded on April 2. The initial provisional admission list for Balvatika is scheduled for release on April 8, with the Class 1 list to follow on April 9. However, for certain states, the Class 1 list will be published on April 10 due to polling obligations.
If there are unfilled seats, additional lists will be released on April 16 and April 21. The admission process for those selected will occur in phases, starting with candidates from the Right to Education (RTE) category, followed by those in service priority categories.
The admissions for Balvatika and Class 1 at KVs are conducted via a computerized lottery system, ensuring fairness and transparency in the selection process. After registration closes, applications are categorized by RTE, service priority, and reserved quotas. The lottery draw randomly selects candidates within these categories, and the results are published as provisional selection and waiting lists.
For higher classes, specifically Class 2 and above, admissions are handled offline based on available vacancies, with separate lists being published. Additionally, the admission process for Class 11 will commence after the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) announces the results for Class 10.
Once the lottery results are disclosed, parents of the selected candidates are required to complete the document verification and formal admission procedures within the specified timeframe. This includes submitting proof of age, residence, service certificates if applicable, caste certificates for reserved categories, and income certificates for RTE applicants. Timely completion of these steps is crucial, as failure to do so may result in the cancellation of the seat, which will then be offered to candidates on the waitlist in subsequent rounds.
