On Tuesday, Donald Trump announced that he has consented to a two-week cessation of military operations in Iran.

The President communicated via social media, stating, “I agree to suspend the bombing and attack of Iran for a period of two weeks. This will be a double sided CEASEFIRE!”

Trump clarified that this decision hinges on the Islamic Republic of Iran’s willingness to ensure the “COMPLETE, IMMEDIATE, and SAFE OPENING of the Strait of Hormuz.”

This declaration was made shortly before his own deadline of 8 pm ET.
