Moose Clothing Company has officially unveiled its new initiative, “Moose Future Olympians – Road to 2032,” aimed at fostering the next wave of Olympic talent in Sri Lanka. This program represents a significant advancement from conventional sponsorship efforts, establishing a structured approach to guide aspiring swimmers towards the 2032 Olympic Games in Brisbane.
Rather than being a fleeting endeavor, this initiative demonstrates Moose’s long-term commitment to youth development and high-performance sports within Sri Lanka. The program kicks off with a selected group of five talented swimmers: Senitha Deenal (18), Jessie Seneviratne (19), Akalanka Nisal (15), Disali Lokuwithana (13), and Mark De Zilva (15). Each of these athletes has been recognized for their potential to perform on international platforms, with intentions to broaden the team as the initiative progresses.
At its essence, “Moose Future Olympians – Road to 2032” aims to cultivate a sustainable environment that nurtures not only individual achievements but also the overall growth of the swimming community. The program is designed to provide ongoing funding, structured training, and regular performance evaluations, ensuring that each swimmer embarks on a disciplined and measurable path to development.
Dr. Kaushal Manawadu leads the initiative, bringing expertise that supports a high-performance framework aligned with international standards. This organized strategy facilitates both continuity and adaptability, allowing the program to expand into a more comprehensive national development platform that will benefit additional swimmers in the future.
Hasib Omar, the Chief Executive Officer of Moose Clothing Company, expressed, “This is a long-term journey towards 2032, reflecting our confidence in the capabilities of Sri Lankan youth. We are beginning with a small, talented group of swimmers, but this is merely the start. Our aim is to establish a structured pathway that consistently supports swimmers in their growth, competition, and eventual representation of Sri Lanka on the global stage. Our focus is on developing future Olympians, not just sponsoring athletes.”
The “Road to 2032” initiative also emphasizes the human aspect, spotlighting the dreams of young swimmers who are embarking on a journey that transcends immediate competitive goals. It fosters connections among families, coaches, and the broader sporting community, united under a shared vision of national advancement, rooted in opportunity and enduring support.
By merging inspirational ambition with a credible and organized framework, Moose is positioning itself as a brand that actively contributes to the future of sports in Sri Lanka. This initiative reinforces the belief that meaningful change is achieved through sustained dedication, meticulous planning, and a sincere commitment to nurturing talent over time.
As “Moose Future Olympians – Road to 2032” takes its first steps, it marks the beginning of a broader movement focused on shaping the future of Sri Lankan sports, one swimmer at a time.
