A distinguished delegation from the Commonwealth Sports, led by Dr. Donald Rukare, President of the Commonwealth Games Federation, and Chief Executive Officer Katie Sadleir, is currently undertaking a four-day official visit to the state. On Thursday, they received a comprehensive briefing from Banchhanidhi Pani, the Municipal Commissioner of Ahmedabad.
During their meeting at the Sabarmati Riverfront House in Ahmedabad, Pani provided an in-depth overview of both current and upcoming development projects within the city.
The presentation covered several key initiatives, including the development of the Sabarmati Riverfront, smart city projects, enhancements to the transportation network, and the establishment of sports infrastructure that meets international standards, according to officials.
In-depth discussions were conducted regarding various sports venues, urban development, and the establishment of top-tier facilities in Ahmedabad. This visit serves as the first formal evaluation since the city was designated as the host for the 2030 Centenary Commonwealth Games.
