Authorities seek public assistance following discovery of deceased individual in isolated Northern Territory community.

A deceased male, believed to be in his mid-thirties to early forties, was discovered near a roadway in the isolated Northern Territory town of Tennant Creek. Authorities are appealing for public assistance in their investigation.

According to a statement from the Northern Territory police, the body was located at approximately 9:30 PM on Friday during a routine patrol in Tennant Creek. Officers found the individual lying on the ground adjacent to Staunton Street, close to Kargaru Oval.

Upon arrival, the officers performed a welfare check and, upon finding the man unresponsive and without a pulse, initiated cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR). Subsequently, St John Ambulance was summoned to the scene, where they continued the resuscitation efforts. Unfortunately, the individual was pronounced dead around 10 PM.

Police have established a crime scene and indicated that investigations are still in progress. There were reportedly “no obvious signs of injury” on the deceased. Furthermore, the authorities noted that no identification was found on the man; however, they have assessed his age to be between 35 and 40 years.

Investigators are encouraging anyone who may have been in the vicinity on Friday night or who possesses pertinent information to reach out to them.
